Apply for Citi Credit Card
Transforming customer experience through digital onboarding process. Customers can be onboarded seamlessly and they can conveniently apply for Citi Credit Card and avail other exciting offers from the partner.
Customers provide their contact details
Customers provide minimal details to Citibank that includes their basic information like title, first name, last name, phone number, email address etc. The drop down values are reference data fields. Example: Title is a reference data field which returns different values associated with it.
Refer to the API callout1 to get possible values of the reference data fields with their description.
Customers provide their consent by agreeing to the terms & conditions and share their details with Citibank. They click on 'Continue' to proceed with their application.
By clicking on 'Continue', the customers can continue with their application processing from the partner's site.
When the customers either drop off or choose the ‘Save for later’ option, the application is saved and an alert is generated as illustrated in the following step. An application reference number (URN) is also generated after all minimum requirements are captured to retrieve the application at a later point of time.
When the customers click on the link embedded in the alert, they are redirected to the Citibank website for the further processing of their application.
Refer to the API callout2 to create a new Application.
Please note: API callout1 is used to get the reference data field values and used in the subsequent steps of the journey as well.
Customers can continue the application processing from Citibank Online Channel
Customers get an alert from Citibank with an embedded link to access their incomplete applications. They can either process their application from the partner’s site or continue their journey from Citibank Online channel. Customers can either choose to process their application from the partner's site or continue their journey from Citibank Online channel.
Continuation from CBOL channel happens in two ways:
Scenario1 – When customers drop off from the partner’s site, they can continue with their application by clicking on the link provided in the alert.
Scenario2 – Salvage Option – Incomplete applications are picked up by Telesales agents for callback and follow up with the customers to complete their application.
Customers provide their personal details
Customers can provide their personal details including their current home address details, identification details, employment details etc.
At this step, the customer's credit card application is updated and submitted for the background screening.

Customers provide other details
Customers can provide other details like mother's maiden name, educational level, home ownership etc. They also provide employment information including industry, work experience, job title etc.

Customer's information is being processed
After providing the required details, the customers have to wait till the time their shared information is getting processed. At this step, a bureau call is triggered which returns the In Principal approval status of the application.
Based on the bureau call response, customer’s application is either approved or rejected. In case of application approval, the credit limit and other suitable products that can be offered to the customer is determined.

Customers provide additional information
Customers provide additional details like their place of birth, civil status, source of funds, communication preferences etc. Customers can agree to the terms and conditions and click on 'Continue' to proceed with their application.

Upload the documents and submit the application
After providing their details the customers can submit their application. If the documents are readily available, then the customers can choose to upload the documents along with application submission. Otherwise, they can submit the application first and upload the documents at a later point of time.

Please note: 'Upload Documents Now' feature is applicable only for the White-Label partners and not for others due to IS restrictions.
Application Submission Confirmation
After the application is submitted successfully, the customers receive a confirmation message from Citibank with the application reference number and a link to print the application.
Acknowledgement for credit card application
After submitting the application for Citi Credit Card, the customers receive an acknowledgement from the bank. The customers can check the status of their application by clicking on the provided link along with the provision to view the Product Disclosure Sheet.
- The fields for capturing customer's details in the above steps of the journey are not static and subject to change in the future as per the bank's directives.
