Customers can request for their account closure with a consent to pay back any outstanding amount on the account to be closed.

Customers can request for their account closure with a consent to pay back any outstanding amount on the account to be closed.
Secure identification
Customers can log in securely with their Citi User Id and password. Refer below API callout for retrieving authorization code.
Customer Consent
Customers are presented with Citi’s consent page where they can read the terms & conditions of what account information will and will not be shared with the third-party application. If they agree, the customers click on ‘Authorize.’
Customers validate the One Time PIN (OTP) sent to their registered mobile number
Customers validate the One Time PIN(OTP)sent to their registered mobile number. In the three-legged OAuth flow, OTP validation is based on a fraud and risk recommendation, which is not mandatory. Refer below API callout for retrieving access token.
Select the account requiring closure
From the list of available accounts, customers can select the account they need to close. Refer below API callout for retrieving account/card details.
Review account details and proceed with account closure
Customers can review their account details including current available balance, total payout amount, reward points etc. before proceeding with the account closure. Refer below API callout for retrieving account balance summary.
Customers review their contact information
Customers review their contact information to ensure it is up to date. They also have the option to state the reason for their account closure before actually submitting their request.
Customer Declaration
Customers can review and agree to the terms and conditions that need to be met before the account closure. If they agree, they can click on Submit and submit their request for account closure.
Request confirmation
After submitting their account closure request, customers get a confirmation message along with a reference number.
Customer's account closed
After submitting their request for account closure, the status of the closed account changes from Active to Closed. Following the similar process, customers can wish to proceed with the closure of other active accounts.Refer below API callout for retrieving account/card details.
